Owl Labs built the Meeting Owl 3 to solve a specific hybrid work problem: the person on Zoom who can’t see who’s talking. The 360-degree camera captures the entire room in 1080p, and the device automatically zooms in on whoever is speaking. It’s a simple idea that changes how remote participants experience a meeting.

Setup takes about 30 seconds. Plug the USB cable into a laptop, and the Owl 3 works with Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Google Meet, and Slack without any software installs. The 360-degree lens has a maximum focal length of 3048 millimeters, which means it can track a speaker from across a medium-sized conference table. The built-in microphone array picks up voices clearly, even when someone is talking from the far end of the room. The speaker output is loud enough for a 10-person huddle room, but it won’t fill a large conference hall.

The CMOS sensor handles mixed lighting well—overhead fluorescents and window glare don’t wash out faces. One limitation: the Owl 3 works best when people are seated around a table. If your team tends to stand and move around the room, the tracking can lag by a second or two. For most daily stand-ups and client calls, though, it keeps the focus where it belongs.
