LANBON’s L8-HS4 is a four-gang smart switch that works without a neutral wire. That alone sets it apart. Most smart switches require a neutral connection, which older homes often lack. This one solves that problem directly. It replaces a standard single-pole switch and fits into a regular gang box. Note the single-pole requirement: this won’t work with three-way or multi-gang setups. The switch uses an ON-OFF-ON operation mode and handles up to 15 amps at 120 volts. Setup uses the Smart Living app, which works on iOS and Android. It does not support Tuya, Smart Life, or HomeKit. Connection requires a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network. The switch employs Wi-Fi MESH technology to stay online, so it automatically reconnects if the signal drops. That is a practical advantage in larger homes where smart devices sometimes go offline. The clamp-style connectors make wiring simpler than screw terminals, especially in tight boxes. Installation is straightforward for anyone comfortable with basic electrical work.

The biggest limitation is compatibility. This switch only works with single-pole setups and its own app ecosystem. If you already use HomeKit or Smart Life, this will not integrate. It also lacks dimming, which some users expect from a smart switch. For the right scenario—an older home with no neutral wire and a need for reliable, app-controlled on/off switching—this is a solid, practical choice.
