Kasa Smart KP200 In-Wall Smart Outlet (1-Pack)
In-wall smart outlet with energy monitoring and remote control via the Kasa app for effortless home automation.
TP-Link’s Kasa brand started in 2015 with a single smart plug, born from a Silicon Valley think tank focused on practical home automation. The KP200 smart outlet builds on that foundation with a simple mission: replace your existing wall outlet and gain voice and app control over whatever you plug in. No hub required, no complex setup.
The outlet handles up to 15 amps at 125 volts, enough for lamps, fans, space heaters, or small appliances. It operates as a straightforward ON-OFF switch, so you control the power flow directly from the Kasa app or via Alexa or Google Assistant. In daily use, this means scheduling a floor lamp to turn on at dusk or cutting power to a soldering iron from your phone. The physical switch on the faceplate is satisfyingly clicky and works even if your Wi-Fi drops.
Installation is standard for a single-pole outlet, but you should be comfortable with basic electrical wiring. If you’re not, call a pro. The KP200 replaces a standard outlet in a single gang box, so you lose one physical socket for the smart functionality. That tradeoff is worth it for the convenience of remote control without a dongle sticking out from your wall.
