In a two-story home with a router on the first floor, one point on the second floor eliminated buffering during 4K streaming in the bedroom. The mesh handles handoffs well. Walk from the kitchen to the garage, and your video call stays connected without a noticeable drop.

Setup takes about five minutes via the Google Home app. The point itself is compact and unobtrusive, designed to sit on a shelf or counter. It also doubles as a Google Assistant speaker, which is useful for timers and quick queries but not essential to its networking job. The limitation is clear: you cannot use this as a standalone router. If you are starting from scratch, buy the two-pack with the router included. For expanding an existing system, this is the right part.
