The JBL Stage 2 240H is a pair of height-channel speakers designed to add overhead dimension to your home theater. Unlike traditional ceiling-mounted speakers, these sit on top of your existing front speakers or a shelf. They project sound upward, bouncing it off the ceiling to create the illusion of rain, helicopter blades, or other vertical effects in Dolby Atmos content.

Each module uses a 4.5-inch polycellulose ribbed cone woofer paired with a 1-inch anodized aluminum tweeter. A precision 2-way crossover keeps the frequencies cleanly separated. The result is a convincing sense of height without cutting holes in your drywall. You can switch between dedicated Dolby Atmos mode and a standard surround/height mode, which gives you flexibility if your receiver handles Atmos processing differently.

The build is straightforward and functional. They sit on a tabletop or shelf without needing brackets. Placement matters: you need a flat, reflective ceiling between 7 and 9 feet high for the effect to work well. If your ceiling is textured or angled, the bounce will be less precise. For the price, these add genuine spatial awareness to a system that otherwise lacks upward-firing channels. They are not a replacement for in-ceiling speakers, but they are a clean, non-destructive upgrade.
