HiOazo’s smart sprinkler controller takes the guesswork out of watering your lawn. The 8-zone system connects to WiFi and pulls hyperlocal weather data. If rain, frost, or high winds are in the forecast, it automatically skips the scheduled cycle. That means you don’t wake up to a soaked lawn after a storm, and your plants don’t get frozen roots in late spring.

The Cycle and Soak mode addresses a common problem: water runoff. Instead of dumping water all at once, it breaks the session into short bursts with pauses in between. This lets the soil absorb moisture properly, especially on sloped or compacted lawns. You can set up to 16 watering schedules across the eight zones, so a vegetable bed gets different treatment than a patch of grass.

The HiOazo app is straightforward. You adjust schedules, monitor real-time usage, or shut off a zone from your phone. No hub or subscription required. The plastic housing is weather-resistant and mounts easily on an exterior wall. It does not support voice assistants like Alexa or Google Home, so if you want hands-free control, this isn’t the unit for you. But for reliable, app-based watering that responds to the weather, it gets the job done.
