It’s a straightforward solution for covering large or awkward spaces where a fixed lens would leave blind spots.

You control the movement directly in the Ring app. The 1080p HD video is clear, and the color night vision is genuinely useful for identifying details after dark. Two-way talk works without noticeable lag. The motion detection is customizable, so you can avoid alerts from a sunlit window. At about four inches tall, it’s unobtrusive on a shelf.

This camera requires a wired power connection, which limits placement. It also works best within the Ring ecosystem, so factor that in if you’re not already invested. For covering a whole room with one device, however, the pan-and-tilt function is practical and effective.
