Screw it in, ensure the sensor ring near the base isn’t blocked by your fixture, and you’re done. At 8.5 watts, it uses about 85% less energy than a comparable 60-watt incandescent. The soft white glow is consistent and comes on reliably at dusk, providing that essential “someone is home” cue. It switches off at dawn, so you never waste daylight.

Just know the sensor requires a clear view of ambient sky light. It won’t function correctly in fully enclosed or downward-facing fixtures that shield it. For open porch lights, lamp posts, or wall sconces, it’s a straightforward, set-and-forget upgrade.
